CORE VALUES

Faith in Jesus Christ is our Foundation

At Pine Valley Camp we believe Faith is Foundational. Our desire is to bring our campers through our “steps” not “programs” so they become faithful, serving, and passionate followers of Jesus Christ and great assets to their communities around them. We believe that these steps will develop a healthy, hard-working, well-rounded individual who knows and understands their gifts and abilities and uses those to further the Kingdom. Our steps are Encounter, Know, Grow, Serve and Go.

Encounter creation, community, and Jesus Christ.

Know the path to Life and the Road to Death.

Grow in personal relationship with the Lord in the context of community.

Serve others so they may encounter Christ.

Go build disciples.

Family is formative; God’s family is restorative

At Pine Valley we believe that Family is God’s framework for fellowship. We teach our kids to treat others with kindness, respect and humility. We model a loving family and a community of unity. We assume the best, extend grace and choose forgiveness. We regularly praise, affirm, and celebrate others. Lastly, we intentionally engage others on a spiritual level.

Fun builds a bridge to the heart of a kid

At Pine Valley we spell Love P-L-A-Y & T-I-M-E. We value the opportunities to actually join in games, jump in the pool, and be WITH the children. If you stop by Pine Valley in the summertime, you will notice that the staff doesn’t merely spectate, we participate with the campers. This is the way we can love the kids, by simply being present.

Doctrinal Statements

We believe the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

Our Basis of Fellowship

The body of Christ in the world has a great tendency to become followers of men or of movements and only associate with those of like following. Pine Valley Camp is a non-denominational ministry committed to the absolute authority of the scriptures. We are not opposed to denominations, however, we are opposed to the over emphasis of concepts and the man-developed doctrines that cause separation and division in the body. We desire to fellowship with and work with all who desire to be subject to the clear principals of scripture as their final authority. All that we believe, teach and practice must come under the scrutiny of the Word of God. We believe that we have little right to call ourselves Christian if we do not practice the kind of agape love that overcomes petty differences. (John 13:35, 15:1-17)

The LOVE OF GOD and the AUTHORITY OF THE SCRIPTURES have made it possible for us to associate with believers everywhere and to enjoy the fellowship spoken of Philippians 2:1-3. These two things have enabled us to appreciate each other and rejoice that the truth of the gospel is going forward.
